E-nabling NT is all about showing people that e-learning capability is now a reality and that across the NT all the elements are in place to allow it to happen. It is essential that we begin to use e-learning to solve some of the training issues we all face. This presents challenges for everyone but especially the trainers, teachers and institutions involved in the training and education systems delivering training and education services in the NT.

Flexible approaches to learning are critical to the development of the NT and there are many solutions that could be used now.  The NT has many critical shortages of skilled workers and also has many potential students who do not have high English literacy skills which makes it difficult for them to engage with text based materials.  E-learning  holds a significant part of the solution as it enables resources to be more visual and also to utilise audio based resources allowing people with low reading skills to enage with course content.

But e-learning is not a single thing or process, it is a process that varies depending on the situation and our challenge is to integrate these new resources and ways of working into real solutions for the NT. E-learning is something you have to build to suit your needs.
