Power Up - Training with E-tools

About the project ...

This resource outlines a range of stories and tools to help indigenous people tap into emerging multimedia career options and build knowledge, skills and confidence in working with multimedia. There is a focus on skill sets that map to the Certificate II or III in Multimedia.

Improving the educational outcomes of Indigenous students, supporting Indigenous staff and developing new livelihood opportunities are key priorities for the Rudd Government and the Northern Territory Department of Education and Training (DET).  E-learning enables learners in even the most remote locations to access education and training. E-learning also offers resources that can be easily

contextualised to the learning style and culture of Indigenous learners. Creating and utilising these e-resources opens up job opportunities for Indigenous people to work in and with a range of local, regional and global communities.

We want to help prepare indigenous people engage with employment opportunities because there are current employment opportunities and increasing opportunities. And in the arts, music, multimedia areas, there are real strengths that can be utilized. And so I guess it’s to help prepare those people.
