Flexible Learning Toolboxes are interactive multimedia resources developed by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework. ( Click here to go to the Toolboxes website)  They include information and learning activities, videos, images all set within various fictitious businesses.  Teacher notes are a part of every Toolbox, you should read them to get a better understanding of the content of the toolbox.

Early in 2008, the Northern Territory Department of Education and Training invested in site licences for 24 Toolboxes for use in schools and in regional training centres across the NT.  The challenge now is to assist teachers learn more about how these resources can be used in their lessons. Learning objects are smaller pieces of Toolboxes and other learning materials packaged in a special way.  These objects are available for you to use for free.  They are stored in the Learning Object Repository Network LORN - your gateway to online training resources.  A handy tip when looking at these learning objects is to consider the file size before downloading.  Learning objects can be quite big, so if you have a slower Internet connection, the larger files will take a while to download.

There are some e-learning resources available that will help you to develop the skills you need to work with learning objects.  For more information have a look at the PowerUp Case Study.
